'A Pastiche of Different Techniques' at Glasgow Print Studio
David Osbaldeston’s exhibition A Pastiche of Different Techniques opens on 5 April at Glasgow Print Studio.
A Pastiche of Different Techniques is an exhibition of prints and paintings by David Osbaldeston featuring a series of works evolved from his recent exhibition at Moon Grove in Manchester early last year.
This new work, produced with the assistance of Al Gow at Glasgow Print Studio includes ARTFORUM CAR SHARE and A WORLD APART ALMANAC, two large-scale multi-panelled multi-layered etchings of drawn and painted elements which originate from the simple confrontation between fast and slow forms of printed media and the physical embodiment of ideas in travel.
The artist will also be showing THE INCOMPATIBLES, a new series of half-tone screen prints on linen and oil depicting spatial arrangements of painted abstract forms he describes as ‘word props’, which are presented as diptychs in various conflicts of interest and power relations.
